Now I’m here with the special mission, representing the College of Design and Arts of Chelsea, which actively supports all the innovations in the field of architecture and design. Elena Hilkova, representative of University of the Arts London UAL in Ukraine and CIS countries, gave the students some practical recommendations that will definitely help them in building their careers:

“There is the practice in UK colleges: after graduating students are immediately invited to the training, to see them «in the work». Independent, creative company like Annie Sloan, who supports us today, taking the training of students who are still learning to see how they develop over time. “The combination of theory and practice” – this principle guided our colleges and leading companies-employers. In addition, there is long learning practice spread in UK – specialists regularly attend refresher courses, which greatly strengthens their position in the labor market. All these factors were decisive in the matter of our partnership with SBID and supporting competition, “Give Me 2 The Top». We will try to encourage students in every way to develop them and to give them ability to travel to internships and educational projects!”.

Nina Vasadze, the co-founder of Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days, has an experience in the conducting similar youth fashion competitions, so she is well aware of the fact how important they are and what results can bring:

“The Kiev Fashion Days Project was a kind of youth, “hipster’s” platform where budding designers could express themselves. A well-known at that time designers did not “show” there. We don’t mention the fact that neither buyers nor fashion editors did not come on this event. Few years later, our company has joined the Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days, deciding actively support it. With the confidence, I can say that we have been able to identify the Ukraine on the world fashion map! Now our designer’s things are sold at Colette and Selfridges, Moda Operandi and other fashion “Makkah”, but fashion critics and Scouts regularly come to us for inspiration and new names. In fact, to be a promising fashion designer, you need a quality education – interior design isn’t different in this regard.”
